History

In 1954, Switzerland only counted 60 cars per 1,000 inhabitants but nevertheless a pioneer, Jean-Louis Biermann, founded the first consulting company in Switzerland, probably even in Europe, for dealing with this rapidly developing mean of transport.

In 1979, Jean-Louis Biermann handed his business over to Philippe Blanc and Philippe Glayre, who founded Transitec Ingénieurs-Conseils SA. After two petrol crises and an increase in the awareness of the challenges of mobility, those seeking to solve problems relating to transport became receptive to aspects such as multimodality and intermodality.

In 2004, Transitec, having developed in French-speaking Switzerland, in France, Belgium, Portugal and francophone Africa, employs about 50 people. Having attained a certain maturity, Transitec restructured a new Team (Francis Caucheteux, Jean-Marc Dupasquier and Sylvain Guillaume-Gentil) who gradually took over the company, ready to take up the increasingly complex challenges which cities and built-up areas will have to solve in terms of transport and development.
With a history of more than 50 years, 25 of which under the name of Transitec, our company has left marks of its presence over the last few decades.

In 2009, Transitec celebrates its 30 years and employs more than 70 people. From its “Bastions”, located in Switzerland and France, Transitec strengthens its setting-up in Belgium, in Portugal and also Morocco in particular. By developping new poles of skills as non motorized traffic, mobility plans or new forms on mobility, Transitec completes its general knowledge on mobility. Since a few years, the new management team was strenghtened with operational persons in charge and takes pleasure to handle, at the same time, small local projects and Urban traffic plans of cities who are millionaires in inhabitants.
With more than 55 years of history, witch more than 30 of them under the name Transitec, our office did not go through these last decades without leaving a few tracks.
